End carriages / end trucks
Top-running, underslung, Podem kits 1–50 t.
End trucks carry the bridge. Rectangular tube or welded box, buffers on the end plate, torque-arm motor. Semi-gantry and underslung variants use the same logic with different wheel geometry. RAE/RNE and DFO-DFM class kits sit next to Podem carriages.
When it fits
A new girder needs end carriages sized with it. A rebuild may keep the girder and swap only the trucks if the calculation allows.
Duty and steel
Wheelbase, buffer energy and motor size follow duty and span, not a kit number copied from another hall.
Interface
Rail centres, wheel blocks and long-travel motors share one drawing. Underslung geometry is not a top-running kit hung upside down.
